Clinical Supervision with an Approved Clinical Supervisor

Beginning your career as a therapist is both exciting and challenging. Quality clinical supervision provides the guidance, support, and professional development needed to build confidence, strengthen clinical skills, and grow into a competent, ethical clinician.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who is an Approved Clinical Supervisor in Washington State, I provide collaborative, supportive, and developmentally appropriate clinical supervision for associate therapists working toward licensure. My approach emphasizes creating a safe learning environment where supervisees feel encouraged to ask questions, process clinical challenges, and develop their own authentic therapeutic style. I have more than 20 years of experience as a clinician. There are very few clinical presentations I have not seen.

My Supervision Philosophy

I believe effective supervision is built on trust, curiosity, and mutual respect. Rather than focusing solely on case management, supervision is an opportunity to deepen clinical thinking, enhance self-awareness, and integrate evidence-based practices into everyday therapeutic work.

Together, we will explore:

  • Case conceptualization from systemic and relational perspectives
  • Ethical and legal decision-making
  • Clinical interventions and treatment planning
  • Cultural humility and responsiveness
  • Trauma-informed care
  • Therapist self-awareness and professional identity
  • Documentation and record-keeping
  • Managing challenging clinical situations
  • Moral Injury and Recovery and sustainable self-care

Areas of Interest

My clinical experience includes working with:

  • Children and adolescents
  • Families
  • Couples/Relationships
  • Anxiety and depression and other mood disorders
  • Attachment wounds
  • Trauma and adverse childhood experiences
  • Behavioral concerns
  • School-related challenges
  • Parenting support
  • Life transitions and relationship issues
  • Religious traumas
  • Grief

Supervision is individualized to meet your current level of experience, clinical setting, and professional goals.

What to Expect

Supervision sessions are designed to be interactive and practical. Associates are encouraged to bring clinical questions, recordings when appropriate, treatment plans, and ethical dilemmas for thoughtful discussion. Feedback is provided in a supportive, strengths-based manner while also encouraging growth and accountability.

Whether you are in community mental health, private practice, schools, or another clinical setting, supervision can help you build confidence while maintaining high standards of ethical and effective care.

Who I Supervise

I welcome associate therapists seeking supervision as they work toward licensure. I strive to foster an inclusive environment where clinicians from diverse backgrounds, identities, and theoretical orientations feel respected and supported. I also welcome licensed clinicians who are seeking either short-term or long-term supportive consultation/supervision.
